Simple Lentils
Appliance: Rice Cooker - 4 cup capacity and larger.

   1 cup brown or green (French) lentils
   3 cups water or broth
   1/2 teaspoon salt (reduce to a pinch if using broth)

Sort lentils by spreading them on a rimmed baking sheet or large platter and removing any stones or foreign material. Rinse lentils in a fine mesh stainer.

Add lentils, water (or broth) and salt to the inner bowl of your rice cooker and push Cook button. Use brown rice setting, if applicable. Cook, stirring very gently and only occasionally, until lentils are tender, 40-60 minutes.
