This recipe is part of the Burgers Collection
   1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
   2 tablespoons mayonnaise
   1/4 teaspoon pepper
   1 pound ground beef
4 pineapple rings, patted dry (optional)

Preheat contact grill according to manufacturer's directions for hamburgers or medium high to high, depending on your model. Use grill plates, if applicable.

Mix teriyaki sauce, mayonnaise and pepper in a large bowl until well blended. Add meat and mix by hand only until evenly combined. Do not overwork. Overworked meat will be mealy. Shape into four patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Grill burgers according to the following:
For medium-rare (warm red center), grill burgers to 130-135 degrees(F), 5-6 minutes
For medium (light pink center), grill burgers to 135-145 degrees(F), 6-7 minutes
For well-done (little or no pink remaining), grill burgers to 145 degrees(F), 7-8 minutes
For USDA recommended doneness, grill burgers to 165 degrees(F), 8-9 minutes

Tent burgers with foil, and allow them to rest 5 minutes before serving. While the burgers are resting, grill the pineapple rings (if using) for about 3 minutes. Top each burger with one pineapple slice and serve.
