Ham and Pear Grilled Sandwiches

   4 slices sandwich bread
   Softened butter
   6-8 slices deli ham
   4 slices Swiss or Fontina cheese
   1 pear, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
   1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Preheat contact grill according to manufacturer's recommendation for sandwiches, or medium high to high heat. Use griddle or flat plates, if applicable.

Spread butter over one side of each slice of bread. Layer unbuttered side of two bottom slices with one piece of cheese, the ham, pear slices and the second piece of cheese. Spread mustard, to taste, over unbuttered side of remaining bread slice and place on top of the cheese and meat layers, buttered side up.

Grill 3-5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown. Transfer to wire rack and allow to cool slightly before serving.
