Simply Grilled Asparagus

Ingredients
   1 small bunch asparagus
   1 teaspoon oil
   Salt and Pepper, to taste
   Fresh lemon juice (optional)


Directions
Preheat contact grill for vegetable grilling according to the manufacturer's instructions or medium-high to high, depending on model.

Wash asparagus spears and pat dry. Snap woody ends from the base of each spear. For very large, mature spears, use a vegetable peeler to remove fibrous skin from stalks beneath the buds.

Toss spears with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper, to taste. Grill 2 - 4 minutes in a single layer with grill closed. Sprinkle with lemon juice (if using) and serve.
